My Dad Took Harvard's NMN for 6 months, Now He's Beating My PB’s
Did you know that a 50-year-old has about half the NAD+ levels of a 20-year-old? Me neither, until I stumbled upon a book that would change my dad's life forever.

Dad (centre) was as sharp as a knife and the first one up most hills, until his late fifties.
“The change in energy is off the scale - it’s like being a new person - not just for myself but also for my 73 year old husband. Absolutely incredible.”

Growing up on Australia's east coast, Dad and I shared a special bond through cycling. Every weekend, we'd escape the bustle of Sydney, pedalling through winding suburban streets and challenging coastal routes.
Paul, my dad, was a legend among my friends. At 55, he'd join our rides, keeping pace with guys half his age. Their was a running joke with my friends and he adopted the nickname “The Machine” from them.
But as he neared 60, things started to change:
- He was getting short of breath on the ‘easy’ rides
- Wrong turns on familiar paths became more frequent
- His trademark quick wit seemed to dull
- Common complaints about a sore back and knees

“Sore knees and low energy became the norm as he would fall to the back of the pack”
Now, you could say that sounds pretty normal for a guy nearing 60, but I could see the emotional toll it was taking on Dad. The frustration in his eyes spoke volumes – the realisation that he couldn’t perform as he used to.
It began to hit home for both of us that he is getting on, and that nothing lasts forever, including 2 good working knees.
Could NMN give my dad his Mojo back?
It was around Dad's 56th birthday when he received "Lifespan" by Harvard professor David Sinclair. Always the science enthusiast, Dad often shared his reads with me. This time, I cheekily snagged it before him as I headed off for a weekend on Great Keppel Island.
Two chapters in, and I was hooked. Each page revealed more about a wonder molecule called NAD+ and its precursor, NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide).

Lifespan - the book that changed everything
I couldn't help but think about Dad as I read how NMN is converted to NAD+ and that it plays a crucial role in “the fight against aging". Could this be the answer to his fatigue, sore joints and that lost power?
I was blown away reading about how many benefits higher NAD levels have in older people, but here is what stood out...
Boosts Energy: NAD powers up your cell's mitochondria so you can stay active and alert throughout the day.
Aids Regeneration: Supports your body’s natural ability to repair and regenerate, helping you stay strong, recover faster, and maintain your physical power as you age.
Activates Defence Mechanisms: Helping you stay powerful and protected against the daily challenges of aging.
We take NMN, and four others from Nature's body each day, and I notice the difference. Brighter, better endurance and importantly sleep much better (I’m 58).

“in 30 years, you'd do anything to feel your age now”.
Normally, I'd be skeptical of such claims. But Sinclair had given NMN to his own aging father, helping him produce more NAD, making him stronger, sharper, and full of energy.
He'd even started training again at an age when most people are slowing down. To be weightlifting at 78 years old is seriously impressive.
As soon as I returned from my break, I ordered a 3-month supply of NMN from Nature's Body. I hadn't run it by Dad yet, but I knew he'd be on board. He's always told me, "30 years from now, you'd do anything to feel your age now"
This was our chance to put that theory to the test.
“Unfortunately, because aging is so common and natural, we tend to think of it as destiny or something we should accept.”
David Sinclair Professor of Genetics, Harvard Medical School Medicine, Author of Lifespan

“Dad’s Lust for life returned in full force”
The first 2 weeks was quiet, but as dad always said, perseverance is key and by week 6, the changes were undeniable:
Dad was powering up hills like his old self
His energy levels soared, both on and off the bike
That razor-sharp wit came roaring back
But It wasn't just about cycling anymore. Dad's lust for life returned full force. He was playing with his grandkids, tackling a garden renovation, and even talking about that triathlon he’d been eyeing up with his nephews.

Rolling back the years has never been easier
Fast forward six months, and the change in Dad is remarkable. At 57, he's not just keeping up with us on our rides – he's setting new personal bests like he's back in his 30s. His energy is through the roof, his mind is sharp, and that wit we all love? It's back with a vengeance.
Last weekend, Dad suggested we tackle the challenging Royal National Park route - a ride we hadn't attempted in years. As we cruised along the coastline, sharing laughs and racing up inclines, I couldn't help but feel a profound sense of gratitude.
By changing nothing... nothing changes.

Improved Stength
Unlock your body's full potential. Higher NAD+ levels contribute to better muscle function and recovery.
NMN has been described as "Youth In A Bottle" for seniors across Australia, and now I know why. It's given my dad a new lease on life, or as he puts it, made him feel "young again."
It’s not just him who has seen benefits from taking NMN; my mum has just started supplementing it into her daily routine, and I can't wait for her to soon reap the rewards too.
If you've noticed changes in yourself or a loved one that echo my dad's story, don't wait. Life is precious, and so are the moments we share with those we love. NMN might just be the key to unlocking a new chapter of vitality in your life too.
